  1. Your question makes absolutely no sense at all.Please rephrase it add more details , aircraft type, temperture , weight , winds ,and a lot more.Thrust cant be proportional to fuel flow , what do you mean thrust is 35,000 pounds per engine so fuel consumption is 35,000 pounds ??

Ya, I agree with the above, Question doesnt make much sense but for some information that may help, we use a computer, type in the temperature, our weight, and it spits out the best altitude.  Company always flies at same speed regardless of whats happening, significantly slower than were able but it saves LOTS of fuel.  A CRJ-200 at altitude doing M.74/290 kias consumes approx 2800 lbs per hour total
