What does it mean in the following sentence Can you tell qualitatively whether the induced magnetic force falls off with distance? explain

{I really have to stop letting my cousins friend use my computer or maybe I should start helping thme...}

  1. "qualitative" as opposed to "quantitative". What "qualitative"  means is to do it without measuring (which would be "quantitative"), or measuring precisely.

    So, is there a way to tell without measuring? Sure. Put a magnetic material near the magnet and notice that the force gets weaker as the material is moved farther away.


  2. I believe it's asking if the magnetic force diminishes with distance and to what degree.  In other words, at what rate or to what degree does it diminish?
