Qualities of an interviewer?

I need to write a 300 words essay on 'qualities of an interviewer'

interviewer over here means the television or radio interviewer , basically from the media.

plz gimme some good points

and also give me some examples from Indian media, where television interviewers possess such qualities

What irritates me with the interviews especially on many morning shows is the following.

The interviewer goes into the interview with a list of questions, and never listens to the answer, or cuts the individual off in mid answer. A good interviewer will be prepared, but listen to the answer, then take the path of the answer to get to the desired conclusion.

Watch Larry King! Why would a goofey old guy like Larry King be so popular?  Because he has control of this art, that very few others have demonstrated an awareness.

Television has ruined the art of the interview.

Listen, listen, listen, then respond to what you have heard, and respond in a manner that will bring the answer, and the answerer back around to the point of your concern. Lose the pre-planned questions as appropriate.
