Quantum Racing climbs back in standings at 2011 Region of Sardinia Trophy: 2011 Audi MedCup Circuit
Cascais Trophy 2011 winners, Quantum Racing were nudged down at number six by the Cagliari Mistral in both races on Day 1. However, they fought back to gain their rightful place on Day 2, as they
finished the day in second and first position in their two races respectively.
The American sailing team, Quantum Racing jumped to number three in 2011 Region of Sardinia Trophy, while they still lead the overall standings of 2011 Audi MedCup circuit. The green team of Quantum
Racing hopes to retain their strong position in the upcoming days.
The Botin Partner-designed Quantum Racing, skippered by Ed Baird, sailed under the same North Westerly Cagliari Mistral, blowing up to 25 knots, but they were more careful this time and had a tremendous
finish in both races.
Speaking to the local media, Quantum Racing tactician Adrian Stead said, “Yesterday we were not as precise as we should´ve been, with my strategy and a few things on the boat. We had very two good
starts, the boat was lined up very well and we executed things very well. I´m really pleased with how we got back into it today, it went quite well.”
He added, “We didn´t talk much about yesterday before the race, just a small headstay issue that we had to fix, that´s why we went out there early, to check it, so it was in the right place. It was
a complete different day, I´m happy with how we sailed downwind today.”
