Quantum Racing project manager Ed Reynolds hails Adrian Stead for good show: TP52 World Championship
America’s Quantum Racing was able to hit the top podium spot at the conclusion of final day’s racing with 17 points, as the crew displayed a tremendous performance at the 2011 Audi TP52 World Championship in Sardinia’s Porto Cervo to defend the title. Project
manager Quantum racing, Ed Reynolds, appreciated the team especially the tactician on board, Adrian Stead, for his terrific form.
While talking to the media at the end of the championship, Reynolds said, “What can I say. With fewer boats you would think it would get easier but it always gets more difficult. This really was not easy in the conditions, but I think the team sailed an
awesome regatta. They did what they had to do, focusing most of all on being fast all the time.”
He added, “They were good at setting the modes in the different conditions and moving between them. Ado Stead sailed brilliantly with some good start and really following the plans we talked about. Each of these world titles have been about a quintessential
team performance.”
Quantum Racing has won the world title for the third time and skipper, Ed Baird, believes they had a terrific season finish with a title in their campaign. USA’s team sailed superbly on the final day with a 2, 1 score line in both races of the day.
