Quantum Racing tactician Adrian Stead delighted to win 2011 Audi TP52 World Championships

America’s Quantum Racing successfully defended their title at the 2011 Audi TP52 World Championships in Sardinia after a tremendous performance as the squad came back right from the bottom to hit the top spot. American team’s tactician, Adrian Stead is quite
happy with their crew’s performance and is pleased with the way everyone on the boat gave their best to achieve glory.
While speaking to local media at the end of the final day, Stead said, “It is a great way to finish the season. We had a tense Audi MedCup, we have been really pleased with the way that we have sailed here against boats which really have been in their conditions
in the form of Gladiator and Paramount Park.”
He further added, “I think it is great that we have come and defended. In a couple of the light races we were definitely on the back foot, especially race three. We had to be strong after our fifth. It was a tense MedCup. We overachieved in Cascais, we missed
a few tricks with our sails, with our communication which meant we narrowly lost in Marseille. The game moved on in Cagliari definitely.”
At the start of the competition, Quantum Racing was at number two but as the event proceeded, they tumbled down to third position. However, they bounced back in the final stages of the tournament to claim the title successfully in the end. With this achievement,
the American team has won their third world title.
