Quantum Racing tactician Andy Horton satisfied with team’s performance in 2012 52 Super Series
America’s TP52, Quantum Racing made a superb comeback in the 2012 52 Super Series and was able to hit the leading podium place of the regatta. Despite having a slow start of the regatta, the American team showed great determination in the advance races and
managed to claim the top spot.
The weather conditions on the racing area were quite ideal for a perfect sail and the TP52 fleet took complete advantage of the breeze to finish the scheduled races and formulate the final results.
During their regatta campaign, Quantum Racing clinched three bullets along with three third finishes and a second podium place to earn 14 points in the end. The US team’s tactician Andy Horton was quite satisfied with the team’s form in the regatta so far.
Speaking to the local media, he said that the team had perfect day on the Barcelona waters and were able to make it up to the mark. They grabbed two good starts and the team did a great job. Horton was very satisfied with the team effort and the performance
they displayed.
He added that every member of the team is very professional and sincere to their work. He never believed that the team would be able to perform this way under such pressure. The second race was a bit unusual but the team made it easy for themselves and managed
to successfully finish on top.
Meanwhile, the Italian boat, Audi Azzurra Sailing team, despite tumbling down on the second podium, is still a challenge to the American crew as they are preparing to return the favour with their results in the upcoming races.
