Quantum Racing’s tactician Adrian Stead reckons consistency as key factor to win Audi MedCup Circuit
Audi MedCup Circuit leader, Quantum Racing, has reached Spain to set sail in the fourth leg of Circuit Regattas, 2011 Region of Murcia Trophy, which is underway at Cartagena. The American sailing team will be a part of the practice race before the event
starts officially. Quantum Racing’s tactician, Adrian Stead believes they will have to be consistent in the circuit races to claim the overall title.
America’s Quantum Racing has won the Cascasi Trophy, the very first leg of Audi MedCup season, with 19 points on the board. However, the American team could not maintain their consistent performance in the next two races and slipped down to lower spots in
those events.
The previous leg, Region of Sardinia Trophy, was not a good experience for the American team as they could not perform up to their standards. Now, the team Quantum Racing is hopeful to regain glory in Murcia Region Trophy with a successful sail on Cartagena
waters. The team’s tactician, Adrian Stead, reckons they have to show a consistent performance, as it will be a tough track in Cartagena.
While speaking to local media, Stead said, “I think it´s going to be another great regatta. Every boat has the potential to win it. We´ve had a look at our sails and we´ve changed our backstay arrangement to alleviate the issues that we had in Cagliari and
we´re aiming to bounce back strong. We have a lead in the circuit and the goal is to maintain it or to extend it.”
He added, “Our forecast predicts a medium sea breeze, I think that it will be interesting to see how it goes with the couple of new sails that we have. We strive to be faster and better, because it´s a tight fleet and there are good sailors in every boat.
All seven boats are capable of winning the regatta.”
