Quarantining viruses?

I have avira antivir personal and I just want to know what happens when it quarantines a virus. It caught one on my computer and I want to know what's going to happen to it because I quarantined it.

  1. If a program cannot destroy the virus, it will quarantine it. This means that you will not be able to access that file without a prompt and other programs will not be able to contact the contaminated area and have the virus spread.


  2. virus infected files will be stored in the quarantine where You can delete them permanently , or you may restore them from there any time you need them, it makes it easy for you to have your files even if they are infected and next time you update your anti virus restore them and check them again.

  3. well basically what it does is that it stops it from harming your computer by keeping it lets say in a "safe" which means it can't really harm you, but if you want to be safer best bet is to delete it
