  1. quarter horses are muscular and catch judges eyes but are very common. every one has quarter horses. i like the mix breeds. ( quarter paint, appendix quarter, and more ) Arabians are beautiful horses that many people love the way they feel when you ride them but they are very fast and spunky. it would take a good rider to keep one under control.

  2. I've owned both, and now have one Arab and one paint.  They are equal in my admiration for them, and have both performed many different functions over their lives.  Overall, I'd say quarter horses work under themselves better for the most part, and Arabs are smarter and more bonded with humans.  Both breeds are strong and capable of most things you would wish to do with a horse.

  3. Pro: Quarter horse tend to be steady minded and good at pretty much anything. I have seem do everything (hunter to eventing to the normal western stuff). They typically make good beginner horses cause of their attitude and mind.

Con: Quarter Horses rarely excell (to the top levels) in english disiplines. Lots of them are on the lazy side. They are typically nice horses but are not my type.

Pro: Arabians are purdy! (sorry, had to say it) Well they are typically very pretty and very smart. They can go FOREVER. They are the enigizer bunny of the horse world. Many make good family horses but lots have a frisky side. Its about 50/50 on wether people think they are awesome or nutcases. I got with the first. They also have an amazing history.

Con: Arabians are called hot blooded for a reason. They are not gifted jumpers (for the most part) and I doubt that do well in western speed or cow events.

I would take a nice quarter horse to an arabian but both have their perks.
