what can you buy with a quarter in the 30s. in other words what is a quarter worth during the 30s?

  1. In the mid 30's you could rent a room in a "rooming house" for $2/week. A cup of coffee cost a nickel and a quarter would get you a full meal at a middle class restaurant, or a loaf of bread at the grocery store.


  2. well i think it depends on if the quatr looks completely different. if it looks different u can probably get a lot of money saying it's is completely different.

    b ut i would ask the bank cuz they no how 2 answr those questions or a coin collector

  3. A quarter was worth 25 cents. There is no exact formula to convert purchasing power unless you know the specific item being purchased. A quarter bought a week's worth of bread for a small family in the mid-thirties. Some items over time actually cost less. (A cell phone in 1990 cost substantially more than one would today.)
