Quarterback Peyton Manning speaks of strong desire of playing again for Indianapolis Colts – NFL News
Indianapolis Colts’ quarterback, Peyton Manning, has finally spoken of his strong desire and passion for returning to Colts to play football during more seasons to come, while definitely being uncertain about the choice of his employer, Jim Irsay.
In his latest remarks, the QB has categorically played down the possibility of him moving to any other team, saying he still felt for playing for Colts for the sake of his fans and for the City.
He at the same remained wary of the fact that  Colts’ owner, Jim Irsay, might be weighing his options around the likelihood of moving beyond the era of the only four times Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the league.
"I cannot predict that," he said, while clarifying a question by local mediamen, who wanted to know his guess of the possible decision from his team management awaiting him, which is going to determine his future course.
Manning added:
"I think it's well documented how I feel about this city, the fans, the Colts, Jim Irsay. It's well documented. Tough decisions have to be made. They'll be made at the appropriate time. This is just not the week to do it. It's not the week. I know people
can talk about it, that's fair, that's part of the game. It doesn't mean that I have to add to that conversation, and I just don't plan to."
Some sections of media have recently claimed that a decision on the Manning’s future at Colts had been made weeks ago, and it is that they team will move on from Peyton’s legacy.
According to the reports it has been decided by the team management that they will aim their energy and resources towards training and grooming of their future quarterback, who is most likely to be a draft top prize that the team is eligible to sign during
the draft season beginning in April this year (2012).
Irsay has denied these reports and said that Manning was still very much a Colts. He gave no explanation of the speculations that team will be parting ways with the player whenever a decision is taken, if it has already not been reached.
Only assurance from the owner that has fallen closer to the hopes of the QB’s return to Colts is that the final decision on his future will be based on the status of his health. Irsay said he will not take any step that could possibly have a long-term effect
on his health and life.
With as much said by the owner, Peyton Manning, is not happy over how things are moving forward. The apparent escape of the owner from coming out clean and clear on Peyton Manning’s future has led to more confusion, uncertainty and instability for the player.
