Quarterback Tony Romo leads Dallas Cowboys to a 44-7 victory against Buffalo Bills – NFL Recap
Quarterback Tony Romo displayed a splendid spell of extraordinary game-play as Dallas Cowboys crushed Buffalo Bills 44-7 at Cowboys Stadium in the week 10 game of the National Football League on Sunday.
Fully recovered from the rib injury he sustained in the second week of the season, Romo singlehandedly took the game away from Bills. He supported the offence with accurate passes ensuring that a touchdown was earned. He finished
the game with 23 successful carries of 26 attempts setting the franchise record for single game accuracy (88.5 per cent).
In the first quarter, Romo sent a 34-yard pass to wide receiver Dez Bryant who scored first touchdown of the match leading his team to 7-0. The next receiver of Romo’s pass was Laurent Robinson who extended the lead to 14-0 after
scoring a touchdown.
Romo’s 58-yard pass found Robinson once again in the second quarter as the latter scored his second touchdown to move his team to 21-0. The only moment to cheer for the Bills’ fans was a touchdown from wide receiver David Nelson
after collecting a three-yard pass from quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick taking the score to 21-7.
Running back DeMarco Murray who has replaced Felix Jones after the latter was injured in the sixth week of the season scored another touchdown for Cowboys to reach 28-7.
The momentum was certainly on the Cowboys’ side. The third quarter witnessed two field goals from Dan Bailey who scored from 45 and 36 yards to push the lead 34-7. Bailey had another field goal in the fourth quarter, which was
followed by a 43-yard interception return from corner back Terence Newman for a touchdown to grab the match winning lead 44-7.
Cowboys have five wins this season with four defeats and are currently ranked second in the National Football Conference East division and hold tenth spot in the league table. Romo was satisfied with his performance and said that
the whole team performed well as a unit.
“We have good balance offensively,” he said. “If you have a good enough unit to be able to throw the ball like we do, and you’re able to close out the games with running the ball like we have been able to do, then that’s a huge,
huge advantage to have. . . . We’ll see. We’re excited.”
Bill’s also have same number of victories and defeats as Cowboys and are ranked third in the American Football Conference East division. Bill’s Coach Chan Gailey was disappointed with the defeat and said that the team did not start
well. However, he hoped that the players would perform well in future and said that he still believes in them.
