How can I become a smarter QB? What is it that makes QB's like Peyton Manning so smart? And what is the best way to get better?

He's smart because he's played for years and years.  He studies his play book and studies the defense systems of those he's playing again.  I'm sure he watched hours and hours of film as he prepares to face a team.  He knows what to expect and how to read defenses because he's dedicated to watching film.

Being in repeated game situations is what develops quarterbacks. Peyton has his faults, but through time he's managed to compensate for them, as has Brady, and use his strengths to the max.  

The best way to get better is repeatedly experiencing critical situations - whether in games, practice, film, etc.

Peyton is so smart because he studies the game.  He is always prepared.  What you can do is study Peyton.  Watch all the games you can of him and how he approaches the game.  

Practice your three and five step drops, releasing the ball high and your accuracy.  

Get on www.nflhs.com and study the whole section on quarterbacking.  www.sportskool.com also is a good page and has videos that you can watch and learn from.  

Practice, practice, and be coachable.  Learn as much as you can, study in school, and think before doing things that you'll regret in the long run.

And if you have Madden, you can learn to read coverages on there and when you get to the field you can start to see things as they progress.

He looks at his surroudings  and looks not at the open person but looks for whats gonna happen next( For Example)

Bigben needs to start that play he needs to look at the line see if there gonna blits so to know if he can pa( play action) or if he needs to throw to some one open . he isnt gonna look for the first open person he sees . he is gonna look to see what may happen when its in the air or whats gonna happen as soon as he catches it. mybe fumble . interseption. mybe get tackled before the 1st. tons of things he has to watch out for.

so just look at your surrounds. what the D line is set up. see where the players are around your wide reciver its all about consentrating

a "smart" qb is a qb with good vision. u have to be able to see everything thats going on. the DE rushing hard on the outside. the primary reciever doubled on the streak. and the check down guy open in the flat. the better ur field awareness is, the "smarter" u'll be as a qb

What makes him smart is that he learns from his own mistakes as well as the mistakes of others. He dedicates himself to watching film and reading defenses.

Of course Peyton is more than just smart. He also has talent....which helps.
