I have a quattro 4-channel FM radio system for my paragon trainer rc plane but my problem is all my friends radio's are diffrent, they are mode 1 ( elevator and rudder are left and throttle and aileron right ) and myne is mode 2 ( throttle and rudder are left and elevator and aileron right ) so if I am in troble my pilot can't help me becouse he does not know the keys.

So now I decided to change my radio to mode 1 but I am not sure I read on the internet that if you move the stick that it can only go open or closed so I can't go just a little op or down and so on is that so?

Regards

  1. I have been flying r/c for about 22 years now, and also instruct every weekend. I am trying to understand why all of your friends are using mode 1 radios ( unless they have purchased those at a wal-mart or similar store) If everyone wishes to learn to fly r/c, find a competent  instructor  and buy yourselves some good radio equipment like futaba, jr, hi tech or equivelent. Everyone will be very happy they did!

  2. take it apart and swap the joysticks left for right and vice versa. do NOT disconnect anything.   keepyour fingers away from the electronics on the circuit board and make sure you're not wearing wool, plastic, nylon or any static generating clothing.  run a small wire between youself and the negative battery terminal, bared & connecting both ends (and your end in contact with your skin) until the job is done.  This static strap will help protect the circuit board from damaging voltages, whose effects may not become apparent for some time.  Do not, under any circumstances, use the earth terminal in a household power outlet for this purpose-it could kill you.  I am NOT kidding.
