classified as a winter squash. Has a hard outside. Generally it's baked, but can be cooked other ways.

wash them, cut them in half, clean out the seeds, coat them with butter, on the flesh side, salt and pepper them. put then on a baking sheet flesh side up and bake at 375 until tender. enjoy some good eating
