Queastion about hurricane Gustav?

Is this hurricane goig to hit Gibson Louisana,70356?

hopefully it won't be too strong if it does, it has almost reached jamaica but we are not really feeling any strong effects yet

I live in South Florida, even thou the storm my not hit us, we are still preparing. Those storms are so unpredictable. The good thing is that we are so use to preparing for a hurricane it is now like clock work for us here in Southern Florida ( Miami )

There's no way to tell for sure, but the current tracking has Louisiana getting a direct hit from a category 3 or higher hurricane.  Keep your eye on it and start preparing, I say.

Possibly but its still too early to know for sure where it will end up.  If I live anywhere on the Gulf coast, from the FL panhandle to Texas I'd be getting my hurricane preparations well underway.  I live in Birmingham, AL so we're watching.

It is too soon to know where Gustav will make landfall. The probabilities are from western Florida to southern Texas. It is also too soon to know how strong the storm will be when it does make landfall.

However, even the most dramatic forecasts predict Gustav will only be a weak Category 3 storm and therefore much, much less powerful than Katrina.  Gibson is far enough from the coast that it probably doesn't have to worry about storm surge, but the winds may knock out the power if Gustav hits LA to the west of New Orleans.

Just watch the news, and plan & prepare to evacuate if you need to.
