Queation about wearing rubber bands?

i got braces in the beginning of last December and i got rubber bands to wear on them yesterday. i only have to wear one rubber band on the right side from my top last molar to my bottom canine tooth. I've heard that wearing the rubber bands as much as your supposed to instead of taking them out a lot can make a big difference in when you get your braces off. so i was wondering, how much of a difference will it make? like weeks, or months? and if anybody has any experiences with getting their braces off faster because they wore their rubber bands or people that got them off slower because they didn't please tell me :)

i'm going to try and wear the rubber bands as much as possible (like i'm supposed to) but they really hurt, so i need something to motivate me.

I wore bands on boths sides for a month, I went in for a tightening today and was told that I could switch to wearing 'em on one side only (identical to yours).  I asked why and my Ortho said it was because he could tell I had consistently worn the bands this past month (which I had).  He told me to keep it up this next month and most likely I would not have to wear them for longer than 3 months altogether.  

Hang in there and if you like tuna sandwiches, have 'em for lunch and/or dinner...they are easy on the teeth!

i had braces and had my rubber bands.

i was supposed to get my braces off this coming august but i got them off at the end of april!! it makes a big difference if you wear them all the time cause my friend  barely wore them and shes atleast 2 months over when she should have gotten them off.

i had to keep my braces on for an extra year cause i was to stupid to just wear them but once i started wearing them i got them off like 6 months later but my jaw has moved back to almost were it was before but i dont care cause i got them off

so if you want them off fast WEAR THEM ALL THE TIME!! trust me youll get them off wayy faster if you just keep them on as much as possible
