  1. it wasn't very quiet it was very noisy but not an armed one.  The result was an exodus of the best and brightest from quebec to other parts of the country demanding their french "rights" and driving up the costs for the rest of us to have services in french when before the exodus there wasn't much of a need.  The federal government being forced to prop up the quebec economy by forcing the public sector into the province and making deals with companys to set up there only to have them move out as soon as they could.

    The second referendumb is much more of the same only now the federal government public service in Ottawa is mostly french and even more money is diverted to prop up quebec's economy due to its anti English biggotry.
