o.k. in theory the queen of England could legally become absolute monarch of England scotland ireland whales N.ireland Canada New Zealand And Austlaia and all the british domains beyond the seas like Gibraltar in Spain and all those Islands she could desolve Parliament And Become the most powerfull human being on the face of the earth i'm not saying she should become a dictator but why does she only just dabble in U.K. polotics and leave all those countries to govern them selves and thats why she loses territory like Rhodesia which split from the crown cause England didn't do any thing for it why do you think she dosn't take a bit more politicall power???????

  1. I still don't get why people reveer another human being so highly? she is just a person like anybody else. I think people that are under her have self esteem issues and feel the need to worship another human being.

  2. she already controls those countries... think about it.. all of the money features her on it... but it's just made out to seem like she doesn't. the US wouldn't allow that to happen, so she isn't "officially" in control.... canada is america's hat

  3. Because she likes having feathers on her head.

    Wait no, that's queen Camilla.

  4. no, she couldn't be 'absolute monarch' of any country.  she is a figurehead - "the font of authority."

that authority is exercised through her governments.

she recently accepted the australian idea of a referendum on whether to be a republic.   and remember, she would be Queen of america if it wasn't for her greedy forebears.

  5. Because she is a moral person and doesn't want to get herself killed by the revolution that would follow her assuming this power, I doubt she has the resources, despite her vast fortune, to hold a dictatorship like that for long.

  6. Absolutism finished in England and Scotland after Parliament won the Civil War.   The monarchy which remains is a Consitutional Monarchy which accepts the will of the people and rules through Parliament.

Sure, in theory the British monarchy could declare absolutism, but in practice it wouldn't be allowed.

The UK didn't "lose" Rhodesia.  The majority there voted for a change of regime which changed the name of the country but remained (and still remains) part of the British Commonwealth by choice.

  7. Because she'd be stripped of her position by those in power faster than you can say "damned republicans!"

  8. Just to let you know this is 2008. Parliament grant the queen the little bit of power she has. Thats the bit where she wipes her own bum. The queen is like the silver lady on the front of a rolls royce, she does nothing other than define the brand.

  9. My dear friend, I don't think she is allowed to.  GOD Bless you.

  10. She is too busy opening airports that dont work, and looking after Charles.I forgot, and counting her money!. I thought everone knew that? Now we know!
