  1. The relationship is very distant;Elizabeth II is not a direct descendant of the Tudors. The distant connection is through Henry VII of the Royal House of Tudor.

Elizabeth I was a Tudor;Henry VII was her grandfather. He was from a junior branch of the family. His wife, Elizabeth of York, is from the senior branch, and the line passes through her and then through their daughter, Margaret Tudor to the present Elizabeth II.

Her Majesty,Queen Elizabeth II, is 38th in direct line of descent from Egbert (c. 775-839), King of Wessex(the Anglo-Saxons) from 802 and of England 827 to 839.

  2. She is a descendant of Henry VII, the first Tudor king.

    It went like this:

Henry VII married Elizabeth of York and had Margaret.  Margaret married James IV of Scotland and had James V of Scotland.  James V married (as a second wife) Mary of Lorraine and had Mary, Queen of Scots.  Mary, Queen of Scots married (as a second husband) Henry, Lord Darnley, and had James I of England (VI of Scotland).  James married Anne, daughter of the King of Denmark, and had Elizabeth.  Elizabeth married Frederick V, Elector Palatine, and had Sophia.  Sophia married Ernest Augustus, Elector of Hanover, and had George I of England.  George I married Sophia Dorothea, daughter of the Duke of Brunswick and Celle, and had George II of England.  George II married Caroline, daughter of Margrave of Brandenburg-Anspach, and had Frederick Lewis, Prince of Wales.  Frederick Lewis married Augusta of Saxe-Gotha-Altenberg and had George III.  George III married Sophia Charlotte of Mecklenberg-Strelitz and had Edward, Duke of Kent.  Edward married Victoria of Saxe-Coburg and had Queen Victoria of England.  Victoria married Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and had Edward VII of England.  Edward married Alexandra, daughter of the king of Denmark, and had George V of England.  George V married Mary, daughter of the Duke of Teck, and had George VI.  George VI married Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon and had the current Queen Elizabeth II.

Of course, a lot of other kings and queens and people's children were left out.  You can check out complete family trees on the British monarchy's official website: http://www.royal.gov.uk
