Queen Of Mantua to steal the show in the Competent Roofer Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle at Chepstow
Valmari is stirring interest in the Competent Roofer Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle, at Chepstow, where this race is scheduled to take place on 22nd March, 2012.
Over a course of 2 miles and 110 yards, Valmari will be competing against Commerce, Frolic Along, Golden Firebird, Just Kates Girl, Kaduna, Miss Powderkeg, Miss Tique, Mysula, Now What, Queen Of Mantua, Timeforagin, Rileys Legend and Tihui Sept for £2,274.
In the beginning of the season, Valmari’s performance was not satisfying.  Coming after a long break, her performance fell short of all expectations as she finished sixth in the Ellen Westcott Memorial Handicap on 25th January, 2012 at Kempton.
She had no chance of keeping up with the competition as she struggled and lost pace.
Tom Symonds trained bay mare proved her worth on 18th February, 2012 when she bagged a victory in the Bathwick Tyres Salisbury Novices’ Hurdle (Div I) at Wincanton. The daughter of Kalanisi, out of Penza, exhibited her brisk pace as she defeated
runner-up Notarfbad by a tremendous difference of 13 lengths.
Trained by Fergal O’ Brien for R.J. Rexton, Queen Of Mantua has shown her true racing skill as she finished as a runner-up in the Clwyd Special Riding Centre Mares’ “National Hunt” Novices’ Hurdle at Bangor-on-dee on 29th February, 2012. She was
defeated by favourite Definite Memories by 4 ½ lengths.
The daughter of Old Vic, out of Papoose’s victory was appreciated as this was a great start to her season. She ran three races in 2011 and did not secure a placed position in any of them. Going to the end of her previous season, she finished eighth in a
line-up of 14 runners in the Williamhill.com / EBF Mares “National Hunt” Novices’ Hurdle, which took place at Warwick on 31st December, 2011.
The six-year-old mare lacks experience, but this looks more promising. She is looking to leave a strong impact in this race, with memorable performance.
The daughter of Network, out of mare Berthevine, Miss Tique, may be tough to beat in this race as this season looks good for her. With her improving form and developing potential, her trainer Venetia Williams deserves all the credit.
Her finish as a runner-up in the Charlie Longsdon Racing Juvenile Hurdle at Warwick on 24th February, 2012, was worth applause as she finished 8 lengths after a much tougher adversary, One Lucky Lady. With time and experience, this mare will be
tough to beat and the one to look out for.
Queen Of Mantua looks in great form and she may steal the show racing with that form. The punters will be looking out for her but Valmari is not to be ignored. Her recent performance is gaining her popularity in the market. Miss Tique’s progression may land
her a placed finish in this race.
