Queen/king endorse prime minister?

can the queen or king one day actual endorse a person runing to be prime minister in britian

I cant remember if the royal family is allowed to get involed like that

  1. if the king does it,nobody can prevent him.

    Although this seems rather improbable.

In theory, it's the monarch who picks the PM, by asking someone to form a government.  But in reality they have to choose the leader of the party who got the most seats in an election.  There have been a case or two there the leader of the party with the most seats can't form a government and asks the monarch to dissolve parilament for another election.  But the monarch instead asks another leader to try and form a government.  But the monarch has very little movement in practice, it's almost impossible to imagine a case where the monarch would get involved like that.
