The former VfL Wolfsburg midfielder is in danger of staying out of action for the remainder of the season, as QPR have deviated from their interest.
Having spent the last season on loan at Birmingham City and the first-half of 2011/12 campaign at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881, Alexander Hleb has found himself out of favour in Felix Magath’s plans.
Hleb’s loan stint with Die Wolfe is set to expire on December 31, 2011, and he will return to his parent club, Barcelona, in January. However, it is almost impossible that he will find regular first-team opportunities at the Camp
Nou, and it is highly likely that the former Arsenal midfielder will be released by the Catalan giants.
It was recently reported that Premier League outfit, Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314, are eyeing the Belarusian’s transfer, but their manager, Neil Warnock, has rubbished the claims.
While talking to Sun, the 63-year-old added:
"I read that one the other day. There's no truth in it. I would struggle to say his name in the team talk!"
The Hoops manager reckons that Hleb’s arrival at the club might not be a favourable option at this stage because they already have a plethora of flank options.
Hleb has had several injury concerns since his arrival at the Volkswagen Arena, and he has failed to establish himself as a first-team regular. The player has managed only four league appearances so far for Wolfsburg, bagging a
solitary goal in return.
The midfielder had a wonderful time with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 in 2008. Since leaving the Gunners, the 30-year-old has experienced a difficult time and has played for four different clubs as until now.
Apart from Hleb, Wolfsburg bosses are also unhappy with the transfer of former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sotirios-Kyrgiakos-c33831. The defender has failed to live up to the expectations of Wolfsburg manager, Felix Magath, and is set to leave
the German outfit in January.
Wolfsburg lie 12th in the league table with 20 points, and their next test will be against FC Koln on January 21.
