Queens Park Rangers signs Georgios Tofas
Queens Park Rangers have signed Cypriot Georgios Tofas on a contract until the end of the season.
Tofas has been training with the London-based club over the last few weeks and has done enough to impress manager Neil Warnock. The 21-year-old spent the majority of his teenage years at AEK Athens.
"QPR is such a big club and I'm happy to be here.
I'll give my best for the club. My first objective is to get into the team and then show the boss and the supporters
what I am capable of," said Tofas.
Tofas is a very talented young man who could have a very big future in the English game. It's important he settles down quickly in the side and has a big impact as QPR
looks to push for promotion to the Premier League.
A talented player
Tofas is a very versatile midfield player. He can play a number of different positions and a number of different roles. He has enough creativity to go forward but has a
good defensive mind for when he needs to track back.
He will benefit under the management style of Warnock. Warnock is the sort of boss that always tells it how he sees it. This black and white approach will focus Tofas'
game and improve it in core areas.
Tofas is experienced with the club because he's been training with the first team for a while. This means he knows the players and the coaches and can walk straight into
the team if necessary.
"Georgios is somebody who has excited me when I have watched him.
He looks like our type of player, he can take men on, yet he knows he has to work hard for the rest of the team. He has got the right work ethic.
The chance to bring him in until the end of the season was too good an opportunity for me to turn down," added Warnock.
