Queen’s Set To Music all active and alert for the Group 2 DFS Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster
If there is a horse which really deserves and qualifies for being part of the DFS Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster on Thursday, it has to be Queen’s Set To Music, who has gained fame by improving drastically over the course of just a few months.
The filly is now onto testing her chances in Group Two Company after completing a four-timer in the Galtres Stakes at York.
Her performance at the Galtres Stakes came as a surprise to her trainer, Michael Bell, who then started analysing her performance consistently and since then has found her in complete form for the Park Hill.
According to him, it is an almost perfect opportunity for the filly for shaping up her future chances for stakes and classics.
There is no harm in being hopeful and confident about Set To Music for the upcoming Thursday event but the fact that she will be neck to neck with performers known for their consistency, such as Cracking Lass and Polly’s Mark, will thicken the plot and simultaneously
solidify feelings.
Her very initial attempt was at a mile and a half and now she is moving up to the St Leger distance of an extended mile and three quarters.
She is not the only horse being represented by Michael Bell.
In a field of seven, Bell has yet another entry, Aidan O’Brien trained Spin, who earlier finished fourth behind Set To Music at York.
Joining the lot to battle on the second and third that day would be Richard Fahey’s Cracking Lass and the Clive Cox-trained Polly’s Mark and the third member of this year’s Classic generation is Goldplated, under John Murphy of Ireland.
Set To Music is now rated 110 and is all prepared for the stiff competition with the likes of Glorious Goodwood's winner, Meeznah, and the Sir Mark Prescott trained Motrice, who has also scored at listed level at Goodwood in August.
The connections are all hopeful and Set To Music will now have to face the music and come glowing form the race tracks to live upto her connections' expectations.
