Queensland Reds ready to take on the Brumbies in their next clash of Super Rugby
The Queensland Reds are all set to meet the Brumbies in their next match of Super Rugby on Saturday, June 4. Australian derby Reds are enjoying their best ever performance in Super Rugby history as they have grabbed 13 consecutive victories in the current
season. The Reds, who are placed on top of the points tables, are hopeful of continuing their winning performance against the Brumbies at Suncorp Stadium.
The brilliant performance of the Reds in the ongoing Super Rugby championship has provided them an opportunity to test some youngsters in the remaining matches. The Reds coach Ewen McKenzie, told the media today on June 1 that they would include Ben Coridas
in their playing 15. It would be a debut making game for Coridas, who has played in the U20 team of Australia.
The coach told that Coridas will be included in the side in place of injured Beau Robinson. Robinson has been suffering from an elbow injury and he will undergo an operation. He sustained the devastating injury during their previous match against the Crusaders
last Sunday. He is feared to miss the whole season because the recovery could take more than one month.
Talking about the debut making Ben Coridas, McKenzie said, "It's imperative you have a physical presence at the breakdown in attack and defence and Ben Coridas is a specialist who is very good at the confrontational part of the game, something which will
be handy against the Brumbies. We considered our options for replacing Beau but we recognised from our first couple of games this year that the breakdown is king,"
The coach further said that Queensland Reds will make only one change in their playing squad so Liam Gill will not be included in Saturday’s fixture. He added, "Liam Gill was considered but he only gets back to Brisbane on Thursday morning following some
intense travel and the bulk of our preparations will already have been done by then."
The Reds and their fans look forward to another win to add to their exhilarating season this weekend.
