You can move to Gladstone (pop 30,000). Rent is pretty expensive but everyone gets paid very well because of all the industry. I get $750 a week after tax and my mum gets $1100 a week after tax.

In Queensland I recommend going to a place called ''Innisfail".

It is about an hour south of Cairns. Tons of backpacker toursits that you will make friends with. Its labour work at bananna farms. I did it for 3 weeks about a year ago with my buddies. Met tons of people and had a blast.

Go into town and go to 'Codge Lodge'- Its an awesome hostel that will find you a job and the manager (Kinny) will not s***w you over. Its $130/140 to stay there a week.
