Queensland wins Men’s 4x100m medley relay title: Australia State Teams Age Group SC Championships
Day two of the 2011 Australia State Teams Age Group Short Course Championships ended in scintillating fashion in Canberra, Australia, on Sunday, September 18. The session of the meet conducted the Men’s 4x100m medley relay final heat, in which Queensland’s
team of Robert Gerlach, Jake Packard, Zac Whenuaroa and Cameron Mcevoy took home the gold medal by posting a winning time of 3 minutes and 40.78 seconds.
In the corresponding race, New South Wales’ squad of Ryan h**e, Jesse King, Hugo Morris and Nicholas Rispoli secured silver medal on the podium by submitting an impressive time of 3 minutes and 44.60 seconds. Meanwhile, QLD’s group of four athletes, Regan
Leong, Jared Gilliand, Andrew Digby and Ridge Grimsey took home bronze medal on the podium by submitting a stunning time of 3 minutes and 46.90 seconds.
VIC’s James Nettlefold, Jordan Chivers, Mitchell Pratt and Benjamin Schreiner were placed fourth in a time of 3 minutes and 48.13 seconds, while NSW’s team of Nicholas Reekie, Tim Cottam, Liam Cunneen and Brandon Grochala was placed fifth in a time of 3
minutes and 48.35 seconds.
In the corresponding swim, NSW’s quartet of Adam Nettlefold, Ewan Bennett, Isaac Jones and Jack Gerrard earned sixth place honours with an impressive mark of 3 minutes and 50.03 seconds. Moreover, WA’s foursome of Lennard Bremer, Tommy Sucipto, Brodie Hedges
and Robert Evans was placed seventh in a time of 3 minutes and 50.30 seconds.
In addition, SA’s Kaden Huynh, James Mckechnie, Charles Jordan and Hayden Lewis settled eighth in a time of 3 minutes and 57.22 seconds. WA was placed ninth after they touched the finishing wall and ended their swim in a time of 3 minutes and 57.78 seconds.
Additionally, Mack Horton of VIC secured gold medal in the Men’s 1500m freestyle with a winning mark of 15 minutes and 14.96 seconds. NSW’s Lach Colquhoun earned silver in a time of 16 minutes and 03.21 seconds, while Christo Deegan of SA settled for bronze
in a time of 16 minutes and 03.35 seconds.
