Question:

Query about s*x, not THAT concerned though?

Why do I get the feeling that I need to urinate mainly after s*x but rarely during near the end of intercourse? Is this normal? I have made a habit of going to the toilet before hand to try and stop this happening although I know it's not actually that I need to urinate. It's really odd.

  1. Hi Hayley,

During s*x, your ? p***s is bumping up against your bladder, and this added pressure may cause you to feel a more urgent need to urinate than is actually necessary. The solution? It’s a good idea if you emptie out your bladder before having s*x.

There may be an alternate reason for your bladder discomfort, however: female ejaculation. It’s not an urban legend; about 10% of women actually ejaculate a clear fluid from the urethra while they are sexually stimulated. This liquid isn’t urine; it’s actually very close in composition to the fluid produced by the prostate gland in men.

If, indeed, it does turn out to be a case of female ejaculation for you relax and learn to enjoy it. Perhaps your feeling stressed about having an “accident” during s*x. If that’s the case, you need to be reassured that you don't need to urinate and that this sensation is simply how you experiences intercourse.

Oh my god how do I know.

    Good luck Hun.

  2. What a load of rubbish - going a pee no more kills sperm then painting a wall.

Its fairly normal hun - and actually going a week after is a good idea - in terms of avoiding thrush or cycstius - flash your self with water.  But believe me, it doens't kill sperm!  Its actually pressure on your badder that causes it

  3. I think it's because you vaginal wall expands during s*x so it presses against your bladder.

  4. sometimes yes it is...but its best tio get up & go as the urine kills alot of the sperm

i know because if i didnt get up afterwards i'd end up pregnant

  5. It's a good idea to urinate both before and after intercourse.  It is normal and healthy to urinate after s*x.  Maybe the earlier commenter didn't understand that a woman's urethra and v****a are completely seperate?  Your urine will not kill the sperm.  However, being upright lets your vaginal secretions move some of the sperm (and bacteria and other stuff) out of your v****a.

  6. The frequent urination could be due to cystitis, caused by lack of lubrication. This is simply inflammation of the urethra, which is common after having s*x, especially when it's your first time. That is because on your first time you are much more likely to be scared and nervous, which can cause you body to not reach the full arousal state, and therefore, not produce adequate lubrication. You can take warm/hot baths to help alleviate the discomfort and frequent urination. But if it persists more than a couple of days, or gets worse, you need to see you doctor to rule out a bladder infection. And from now on, try using a lubricant before s*x (K-Y Jelly), which will help a lot. You can also use pre-lubricated condoms, which would also help prevent STD's as well.

  7. During s*x your partner can put pressure on your bladder, causing you to feel like you need to pee afterward.
