Query on Honda City vtec

Hi Guys,

I am planning to buy a Honda City ZX Vtec….

My queries:-

1 - First of please advise me if I have made a right choice. My budget is around 8-9 lacs, my usage will be around 400 kms highway driving (once in a month Mumbai - pune) and around 1000 kms in the city. I am not a very slow driver and like to rev the engine…..

Looking for - power, fuel economy, resale, space, good interiors.

I feel NHC Vtec pretty much covers all of my above requirements.

2 - Now considering that I go for this car I have a house in Pune as well as Thane…can u advice me which place should I book the car from so as to get a cheaper rate... And also if any one can tell me where is the Honda showroom in thane??

3 - I heard that the default tyres that you get with the NHC Vtec 175/65/R14 are not ideal for the best performance - handling and braking. Is this true?? ..If yes, what kind of upsize should I go for while purchasing the car??... Will it affect the fuel economy or the ground clearance in any ways??

4 – I am not too fascinated with spoiler which comes with this variant….Does it actually make any difference to the drive???

Any other advice …..Most welcome!!

  1. you're asking in the wrong country...this is the US..we don't have that model here and don't deal in money other than dollars..

so scroll down to the country you need and ask there.

  2. excuse me the 1st answerer whoever u r, if u cannot answer a question then let indian answerers take over my friend.don't be so much greedy for points.sorry if i hurt u.ok now to the questioner- so NHC ? best in class fuel efficiency and top class features and the brand name honda for prestige.you got yourself the best mid-size in india!!! if you feel the need the change in tyres then u can change them.spoiler increases balance and speed hence improving Fuel efficiency and as u like the revs i think you might like the spoiler .if you are considering the honda city which is gonna come this diwali, then u got everything.but if u are going to book the present one then there will be no value for money .so wait, ready and book !!!!!!!!!!

  3. Hi!!

I would like to answer the first part of you question.

I would like to say that the choice you have made is pretty gud with the Honda city considering your budget & requirements. But I just felt if your budget is 8-9 lakhs why dont you go for a corolla base version? As its launching its new model in september you might end up getting a gud deal for the current model which would very much fit in your budget. w.r.t resale, any Japanese make would have a gud resale value. Why I suggested Corolla is even Honda would be launching its new City sometime around september refer : http://www.iwebie.com/2008-new-honda-cit... . so by going with Corolla you'll own a higher grade vehicle with gud power which you need :-)
