Quest For Peace favourite for Windflower March Stakes (Listed Race)
Quest For Peace will be looking for a second consecutive victory in the sport, by claiming the Windflower March Stakes (Listed Race) at Goodwood in England on Saturday, August 25, 2012. He will have to outperform six other extremely talented runners in order
to win a cash prize of £19,849 from the class-1 race.
The bookmakers expect a tough competition amongst all runners in the 1 mile 6 furlong event, which is scheduled to start at 16:30 GMT. Some of the participants have been performing really well in recent times, thus the punters will be looking to risk more
bets on them.
One of the runners, who has got an impressive record, is Harris Tweed, who will enter the race as the favourite to win. He has participated in a total of 17 events, winning five of them, which shows what he is capable of achieving. However, his form has
dipped to some extent over the past couple of events, which will put some doubt in the minds of the bettors.
However, Quest For Peace has regained his form and is carrying the winning momentum right now, which will help him attract a lot of bets today. He has been priced 5 to 2 by the bookies, which clearly shows that he is expected to make a strong impression
at Goodwood.
This venue proved to be quite lucky for the four-year-old colt, as he was able to win his previous race on it. In 2012, he had taken part in three more events prior to that, but was unable to succeed in any of them.
The Luca Cumani’s trainee made his debut in 2010 and was impressive in his first ever outing, finishing third overall. He enjoyed a very good time during the next season and triumphed in three races.
Despite that, the young runner was unable to make a winning start in 2012. He finished as a runner up in his first outing this year, but struggled in the next couple of events. He managed to break the shackles last time around though and his team will be
expecting him to continue with the same sort of momentum from now onwards. Veteran jockey, Richard Hughes, will be assisting him at Goodwood today.
