Quest. bout 2008 olympics volleyball?

why is it.. in the.. group volleyball.,. game eg.

in the guys team..

eg.. serbia.. plays.. germany.

serbia is the team in blue and germany is red.

why is it.. in one of each team.. one person is in a different colour..

i saw the other day.. serbia was blue.. but one guy was in a white shirt instead. of his teams colours.. and germnay they were red and.. one person. was...another colour... forgot what.. but yeh ...

why?

and im sure. its not because they are captain..

becausethe commentators said who the captain was.. and it wasnt.

that one person in the different colour. jursery..

so yeh. just wonderin.

  1. That player is called "Libero", who plays back row only, and can replace a back row player without costing a "sub". When this player gets rotated to front row, s/he will be replaced by the one who was replaced, and the Libero can sit for one rally before coming back and "replace" another back row player.

    They are in different color so that it is easier for refs and scorers to keep track of their on-and-off.


  2. That player is a libero.

    He/she only plays back row and can sub any back row players at any time thats why they have to wear another coloured shirt for easy identification. They are the most specialised in defence in the team and they dont have to serve.
