Im doing a book report on it DUE TOMORROW! (so help now please!) & it says "describe the historical, mythological, and geological backgrounds in the book" Ok so explain this to me... How can a fictional book set in the future have any HISTORICAL background? I understand the mythological and geological aspects but I'm seriously tuck on this part. Can someone who's read the book please help me out by explaining this to me. It would help a lot!

  1. i LOVE the house of the scorpion.

the question might be asking you the historical background in the book. like the history of el patron or opium or something.

  2. The history of the drug trade, immigration issues, the debate about cloning. A novel set in Earth's future has both history and the current events at the time of its writing as its historical background.

  3. I loved that book =].

I'm guessing that the historical background means the history behind El Patron (his story of when he was a little boy and then became rich, etc), also drug lords and immigrants crossing the border and stuff like that.

    Good luck.
