i'm 16, and i was thinking of having s*x. My boyfriend and i have been together for 2 years and i know i love him and i know i can trust him because we've been together for 2 years and haven't had s*x but we've still been far we've done everything!!!! EXCEPT for s*x so now my question is: i told him to use a condom and use some spermicidal lube just in case the condoms breaks or something and i want to know is this going to help prevent me from being pregnant? if condoms are like 97% effective, how effective would it be with spermicidal lube?

And don't even try to tell me to change my mind cause it's SOo ******* annoying just answer my question it's simplee

thanks.

  1. Actually, condoms average about 80% effective...that means that 1 in 5 times, they do not work. Good luck with risking being a teen mother, since we can't tell you to change your mind.

To answer your question, condoms come with spermacide on them. The fact that you don't know that tells me you shouldn't be risking permanent things with your body. So that means condom + spermacide = 1 in 5 chance of failure. Enjoy.

  2. go ahead and do it, and when the condom and spermicide fail, then have fun having a baby at 16 years old!!!!

    enjoy!!!

  3. Nothing is 100% effective ... its a risk you are taking so just make sure you and your boyfriend are on the same page and try reading tips on line together ... the condom breaking isnt the only risk ... sometimes the condom slips off or whatever ... just take percautions you seriously dont want to get pregnant ... its HARD WORK!!

P.s and just to remind you make sure he uses the condom anytime he is inside you ... my Best friend let her boyfriend "start" by not using a condom till he got "hard" and ended up with an STD!!!

  4. even with a condom you still can get pregnant whether its 97% 80% 50% whatever. its not 100% so you can still get pregnant. if you're not looking forward to getting pregnant then don't have s*x at all, its not hard, its very simple. not end the of the world if you don't have s*x.

  5. I would like to applaude you for thinking about protection BEFORE you have s*x! Even using the pill condoms and spermicidal lube theres always THAT chance. But You should be fine using condoms and the spermicidal lube. make sure you use condoms everytime and getting on birth control would be a good idea incase ONE day theres an oops we didnt use a condom.

    be safe!

EDIT: to the first person who answered!...not all condoms come with spermicide! and at least this girl is one of the very few who is being smart. teenagers are gonna have s*x whether we like it or not. so protection her self is awesome!

  6. Hun i am a army wife. this last year we had over 2,000 babies born on the base not counting the ones they had to send other places. sad to say but most of these babies are from condoms. and just because u have been together for two years doesn't mean a thing sorry to say. i have known my husband for five years before we had s*x and we were both out of school and where planing to get married after he got back from overseas. now we have a one year old and again my husband is overseas. oh and if u do have s*x and don't get pg don't think that will happen every time. i am 21 and have been living on my own since my husband has been overseas i have no family where i am at. and at times it is hard to know what to do with baby. your body is not done growing. sorry to say. but hey if u have waited two years why not wait some more. it is worth it trust me.  i wish i would of would of made our wedding night way lots better. just think about it please the reason i am saying this cause u will in time regret it. god bless

  7. Condoms are the safest type of contraceptive around, so if you use spermicidal lube they should be about 100% safe. Learn how to use them both before you have s*x though.

  8. I think you should try birth control if your worried about getting pregnant. And your old enough to have s*x and thats your decision nobody can try to change your mind.

  9. Use both and have a great time

  10. that would be effective, but it would be better if you went on the pill, it's easy and if you use it correctly then it's 99,9% effective
