  1. Let people know that they are just borrowing the planet from their children.  They should want to leave it a better place for them.

There are many ways people can contribute to resolving the problem:

Reduce: Turn the thermostat down a little bit in the winter.  You can make it up by wearing a sweater around the house.  Don't bag groceries so wastefully.  Milk jugs come with a handle, use it.

Unplug cell phone chargers when the phone is not on them.  The chargers are a direct current and continue to use electricity when plugged in.

Don't buy those bulky detergent bottles, get the powder that comes in a recyclable box.

    Reuse:

Donate old clothes to a goodwill store or to a smaller kid down the street.

Refill old water bottles instead of buying new ones at gas stations.

    Recycle:

Newspapers, batteries, glass, plastic, cardboard, magazines.

Tell people to look it up online to find out what all their local recycling plants will recycle.  They will probably be surprised by the amount of things they can recycle.

  2. Being wise with resources is good - but recycling is not the green solution it is cracked up to be. Why do you think the local governments have taken over the recycling effort?  They make money and create make-work jobs, and raise taxes to do it!  Consider:

1.) In the United States the vast majority of paper is manufactured from trees grown on tree farms that were created specifically for making paper. In fact, because of the great need for paper, these tree farms have caused an at least 3-fold increase in the tree population since 1920.

2.) More energy is spent in collecting, sorting, and processing in recycling than just making things from scratch. Some estimates show that it costs about three times as much to recycle one ton of garbage than to just dump it in a landfill.

3.) Land fill capacities, like blast furnace capacities, have increased incredibly over the years. Because of this, the number of land fills needed to satisfy our needs has decreased, but the overall land fill capacity in the U.S. has increased.

  3. I do alot of reusing. I wash and reuse my Ziploc baggies, until they are no longer usable. I donate my butter container (and the like) lids, toilet paper rolls, broken straws, oatmeal containers, etc. to my daughters preschool who uses all of those things for their arts and crafts. The city I live in gives every citizen 3 trash cans, one for yard waste, one for regular trash and one for recyclables. We don't have to separate our recyclables, (which I believe is a major reason why people don't recycle because they don't want to take the time to separate) we can just throw all of our recyclables into the same can, which is cool, and more people are recycling than ever in my city.

  4. we have created a mess! and if we dont take care of it now our children will be living on a land fill  what waste of time sending them to school so they grow up and have to resolve our mess! im all for recycleing and have been for years ! check out this company for me and email me back and give some input okay? www.melaleuca.com. its all natural and eco-sense able and most if not all chemicals are cost saving to the individuals that you add your own water   thanks b.johne k.

  5. We should recycle because if people think " Oh It's just one person what will that do!" But if everyone thought that what would happen the our country? What we do when we run out of resources and try to buy them from other countries for a high amount? We shall solve this by letting as many people as we can know what some people are doing to our environment. We shall explain what will happen if we DO NOT recycle. We may visualize the world as an empty waste land piled with many workers digging through garbage to find thrown away recyclables.

  6. explain about how if all the trees leave, than we die cause the carbon dioxide............
