  1. I'd listen to your parents Dani - rugby isn't a game for women!!!

(Watch the feminists tear me apart ;-))

  2. You have to play rugby!  Its the best sport in the world.  My sister plays and she loves it because it is one of the only sports that the rules for boys and girls are exactly the same...therefore its cool to talk rugby with anyone that plays. womens lacrosse is a joke....totally different sport from the mens.   Anyway, you will love it if you play.

  3. this should tell you all you need to know and hope it helps and tell your parents to give you a chance cause alot of girls i know play rugby and they love it

  4. unless you are from RSA,NZL,AUS,ENG,IRE,SCO,WAL,FRA,ITA,PACI... ISLANDS AND MAYBE CANADA DONT TALK ABOUT RUGBY LIKE YOU KNOW WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT.AMERICAN RUGBY IS LIKE PLAYING AGAINST 12 YEAR OLDS WHEN YOUR 21 ITS PATHETIC,ANYWAYS I'M NOT SAYING DONT PLAY ITS JUST THAT YOU GUYS WILL NEVER BE A "REAL" RUGBY PLAYING NATION AS RUGBY IS A SPORT MADE FOR TRUE ATHLETES AND AMERICANS JUST ARENT THAT,

  5. Ms. Dani, Rugby is a wonderful sport from which you'll make friends and stories that will last you a lifetime.  However, Rugby is not for the faint at heart, especially when girls play.  I don't know what it is, but for some reason girls are much more vicious than the guys are.  Don't tell your folks that, and also you might want to try and dispel the rumors that rugby is basically a way for schools to condone violence and alcoholism.  It's not

In regards to your lack of experience in the game, everyone starts out as a beginner and people with more experience than you will be more than willing to impart their knowledge to you.

The thing to consider is what your body type is because chances are it will dictate what position you play.  If you're small and speedy, then chances are you'll be a back, which means you'll be running around with ball in hand scoring points.  If you're big and strong, you'll be a forward, clearing rucks and mauls, scrummaging and line-outs  (i'll leave the internet to explain those).

Another good way to pick things up is to watch videos, from which i would recommend Rugbydump.com  It has clips from all over the place and you should be able to pick up a few things.

    Hopes this helps

  6. Rugby certainly is a game for women (look at the Australian national squad!!!!). Nah, its a very close contact sport that WILL leave you bruised and sore, think of American football without all the time-outs and set plays. It will get you very fit and the social life is very good.

    Good luck.

As for info; the good old favorite Wikipedia has tonnes of stuff on the game.....

  7. what the guy above me said is complete horse s***....

on my rugby team we've been known as the kids that have had so many athletic suspensions we cant play a regular sport so we play rugby. Which everyone gets wasted and high before matches...but it's a good time.

    To answer your question...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rugby_union

should tell u everything you need to know....i live in the states so i had no idea how to play

its relatively easy to pick up but i didnt quite understand the rules until i had some experience with the game myself
