Question:

Question About Ucas Points?

by  |  earlier

Whereabouts can I find out how many Ucas points I'll need for a particular course?

The Ucas website is confusing?

The course I'm wanting to do is Law, at Cambridge, if that helps.

Thanks!

  1. cambridge would usually go on an interview and a test not just on UCAS scores - but i would say that they wouldn't want anything short of 4 A's at level

  2. http://www.cam.ac.uk/admissions/undergra...

    The site says:

    A level offers

Most conditional offers made by the Cambridge Colleges will require AAA in three A level subjects. For advice about suitable subject choices see course requirements. (http://www.cam.ac.uk/admissions/undergra...

I know some people get offers on AAB if you do a good application and interview. Hope that helps.

  3. You need 3A's they don't look at points. Look at the cambridge website.

  4. If you go on the Ucas Website and go on Course Search.

Then Type in Law and select the institute as Cambridge.

Then you should be given a page of information about cambridge, from this you can then click on a link about applying and entry requirements.

Im pretty sure Law at Cambridge is 3'As at A-level though.

  5. Try and look at a prospectus on Cambridge's website, at the Law subject where it should tell you how many points. Because it's Cambridge and you want Law, it will be over 280 points I should imagine, if not higher! Get good grades!!

  6. Ucas point system is comparatively new compared to how old Cambridge is, so an old University like that and especially one so prestigious would keep to a more traditional way of accepting students, I think it would be grades and interviews, I would guess you would have to get all "A's" at A2 and atleast have History and Law A-Levels.  They must get thousand of applicants a year, so you need to stand out and by the way, it's too late to start this year, you should start applying in October to get a place starting in 2009.
