Question About home threatres?

i have a tevion home threatre and it has a 5.1 speakers

it also has RBY on the back called mix out is this so that i can play stuff out of it :S cause when i try plugging my laptop through with the left and right audio plugs it only goes through the sub woofer help...

RBY is probably component video, not audio at all. You have to plug your laptop into left/right audio inputs on your surround and then you need to select a simulated surround field to hear 5.1. Or, you need to make a digital to digital connection between your laptop to your surround if you want to hear dolby 5.1 surround. I'm not sure how to help beyond that because I need more information from you.
