  1. Luck...I think it's just something you have to believe in.  If you think about it, it doesn't really exist.

  2. Very much so. People who believe in luck will take chances that those who know better won't.  For instance, they'll spend more time at a slot machine wishing for luck.  They're the same people who drive like maniacs knowing they won't get in an accident.

  3. "Luck is when opportunity meets with preparation" -  Tom Waits

  4. Hopefully we are you doing philosophy here?

A real force in physics, I think not! We all attribute outcomes to either a mysterious force out of ignorance( lack of knowledge) or to a miraculous being (out of Faith) presumed in charge of running things and making things happen or not, whichever be the case.

Luck is human pagan term idiomatically describing a posteriori the coincidence of an event or condition with an expectation. Luck is a folkloric concept in communities ruled by superstition out of ignorance.

There are 3 kinds of luck: bad, good & no luck! Learn instead the quantitative science of probabilities and predictive statistics and join the modern models of luck.

    Good luck!

ps, darn now I have to google it to see if my comments are in the ballpark! I hope luck is not a factor in winning BA honors!

  5. I believe that you create your own luck...

  6. My opinion is Luck is how a person looks at what they think is about to happen. Of coarse we cannot guarantee everything in life. So with that being said, If they are uncertain about some things they may really want (regardless if it has to do with life or some in general), they may hope or wish it a certain way.

If they get there way they may think of it as luck. Which I think it goes back to something I researched " All you can see and know is not you."  Getting off track. But I think it is what each person beliefs are.

  7. luck is a superstition.  You lead a fools life if you live by superstitions.
