I mean he does lots of the lead guitar playing for them and he's pretty much always playing with Billie Joe, Mike, and Tre. He should be officially part of this band. Why isn't he?

  1. I agree with Gdcoton. Green Day was together before jason came along. He's just there to play guitar. Besides, when you think "Green Day", you see mike, billie joe and mike in your head, not jason. With him, it wouldn't be the Green Day "trio". They do acknowledge him, though. Like  during their acceptance speech for the mtv vma's, billie joe said thanks to him and also to jason freeze.

  2. i understand what you're saying, but i think he's fine with being the officially unofficial member of green day.

(fun fact: he's the guy who was kissing that girl on the When i Come Around video!)

he's known the band for years, although im not sure when he started touring with them. He is also co-owner of Adeline records (aka Billie and Adrienne Armstrong's record lable).

in all honesty, im not sure why he isn't. maybe because green day has always been the 3 brats from the east bay- not four or seven (refering to Ronnie Blake and Jason Freeze or Mike Pelino). but well, im sure that he's just fine with his position, and being an official bandmember for Pinhead Gunpowder, The Influents, Chino Horde, and The Big Cats.

eh, i just realized i've barely answered the question! xD

  3. Because it would kinda ruin the whole thing. Like Billie Joe, Mike, and Tre are the ones everyone knows and loves for different reasons and they each bring something to the band. Tre brings hilarity to the band, Billie Joe brings a teeny tiny bit of responsibility (and he's the face of Green Day), and Mike is just...Mike...it couldn't be the band without him. But Jason White? Before Jason White came along, Green Day was doing just fine. People don't go to concerts to see him, they go to see the other guys and they don't really care about whether he's there or not. He's not a crazy punk rocker like the other guys, he's just...there. You never see him lighting anything on fire, or getting naked on stage, and that's what Green Day performances are all about, so he's not really memorable.

    That's what I think.
