does it have blu ray and can it play blu ray dvds without any special cable or does it need special cables

all PS3 models have a blu-ray drive and can play blu-ray and dvd, you only need what comes with the PS3 but with a HDMI cable you could enjoy all the benefits from blu-ray in terms of image quality of up to 1080p if your hdtv set can support it.

ofcourse it has blue ray because all the games are set on this format and disc. The reason sony uses blue ray and Xbox 360 uses HD dvd is because they were fighting for format so every xbox 360 model will have HD and sony has blue ray. by the way sony is a better answer now that xbox 360 is a worthless box of **** because blue ray won the format war.
