I have never had a problem with my son sleeping, he is 6 years old. He has his own room and goes to bed on his own everynight lately for abour the last two weeks when I got to get him up in the morning he is not in his bed he is in with his sister sleeping in her bed with her she is 3 1/2. I ask him why he is in his sister's room and he says because they want to be. Does anyone know what this can be? I was thinking maybe something is scaring him but I don't want to ask him that and put it in his brain. What do you guys think it is and what can I do?

  1. It might be as simple as waking up and feeling a little cold.  My sister used to climb in bed with me most early mornings because she was cold.

  2. ask him, its better for him to come out with and talk about what is scaring him than to ignore it and let it fester..

  3. He might just feel safer with his sister. I was the same way when I was that age. We just had a bond that when we slept together we both slept better. Also my niece is 7 and does it with her 4 year old brother.

  4. We have the exact age children. I wonder maybe this has more to do with your daughter? I find that my 3 1/2 yr old daughter is way more clingy to her brother then vice versa. She cried the morning he went to school. She is bored without him. Just a thought - maybe she has told him she's scared at night....i wouldn't put that past my own.

I agree ask him why? Ask him if he's scared -- it's best to get it out and discuss it. In our house we always try to voice out the frustrations we have - better to do that then keep it bottled up.
