Okay, so I just got back my AP test results and I made a 2 on both...I think I almost had a stroke when I found out because I ******* fainted and now I feel really numb all over...I can't believe this bullshit...I tried hard, even got an 83 in one course and a 92 in the other...and yet I made a 2. What the h**l do I do now? Do colleges care alot about results? Our school has a policy so I can't retake the course or tests...what do I do? I've been trying so hard to get into UGA and it seems my efforts are failing now...my teacher didn't teach me very well in my AP Lit class, but my AP US History teacher did teach me well, so I made a 92 in his class, but a 2? What the h**l...I hate this ****. Do colleges really look at your AP tests to decide if they let you in or not? I don't know what to do and I'm stressing out a great deal...

  1. cool.....u live in GA too.....dont sweat it...i got a 2 on AP chem..and i got really nauseous...... its okay....this kid got a 1 on his AP bio and he made it into NYU>..

  2. I'm sorry u made a 2 on both. But Colleges don't really care about ur AP results as long as u tried out those classes. U can just choose not to send them since u won't be getting credit anyway. Yeah, tt's prob what I'm gonna make for Eng lang and comp. and US Hist too. Still waiting on mine. Hopefully, today'll be the the day.

  3. AP scores for the most part can only help you. If you pass the exams, the colleges see you are ready to handle a college-level course. If you don't pass, there's usually no negative feedback from the colleges. The only way an AP course can hurt you is if you take the class but not the exam itself.

  4. Relax.  Failing an AP test simply means that you will not receive college credit for the course.  It is 100% optional to submit your AP test scores into college.  UGA or any college you apply to will not see your scores if you don't want them to.  Colleges want to see kids taking and doing well in the course; they really could care less how they do on the AP test.

  5. Don't worry. It is optional to send your Ap scores. As for UGA, I toured the college a week ago. They look at two things: Rigor and G.P.A. They want to know that you have taken the opportunity to take rigorous Ap classes. You do not  have to send in your AP scores if you don't want to..and Im sure it wont affect your application.

P.s. Im very unsatisfied with my Ap Us history result as well. I tried hard for that class and that exam!!

  6. I gotta agree with Ariel, some teachers know the ropes and the exam like the back of their hand....where as others are still a bit new to it all.

First off, take a deep breath. AP exams are HARD! Very, Very hard! Even getting a 2 is hard on some exams! Remember it is IMPOSSIBLE to know all of the material that will be on the AP exams every year. You just have to remember what you can, and really hope for the best. Working hard does help, but, in the end, a lot of how you do comes down to luck. (Essay on a topic you know well, not a lot of questions on stuff you don't know too well, etc).

Second, colleges don't even have to see how you did if you don't want them to! If you do not like one of your scores, I believe you have the option of selecting which scores to send to a college. I'd honestly show them the 2's, it shows you tried. I only wouldn't show them a score if you got a 0 somehow (filling out identification information incorrectly...der!), or if, like, say, you're fluent at Japanese and of Japanese descent and got a 1 on the AP Japanese exam. THEN it'd look pretty bad :/

Don't freak! Some colleges don't even give credit for certain AP scores. But they'll still look at and consider how you did in the actual class itself.

But, you can take this as a lesson. Try and do a different method of studying before the exams next year, buy a course book (like from REA, available at borders or b&n) or maybe even try a study group. Don't beat yourself up! those tests are HARD

  7. Don't worry.  Blame it on the teachers and the education system.  It has nothing at all to do with your abilities.  Some teachers are good at preparing students, others are not.  I got into Ivy Leagues with 2s, but I did okay (4s and 3s) on others, so just do better on others.  Don't worry, though.
