Question about Air Force AECP

I understand that once approved , one will be going to college as full time student including summer. However, I still have several questions:

Does he/she need to enroll full- time in the summer term?

Can he/she do a minor beside the approved major?

Will the program allow one to take classes that are not in the approved degree program?

Former AECPers, please tell me your experience with AECP. What was your lifestyle like ? What were you required to do when you don't have classes?

Im an Airman First Class. I'm applying for the program. Please provide me with all the tips and advises to get selected. i wish to know as much as possible. Very Much Obliged.

  1. I understand you still go to OTS afterwards ?

  2. To add onto the previous post, of which I concur with everything said, the selection process is focused on two things:  1.  can you be punctual, precise, organized and dedicated enough to put together the application package?  2.  who are you as a person?  A low AFOQT score or low GPA, for example, can be balanced out by AOQ, BTZ or DG awards--they really do have a "whole person" mentality.  Recent history is more considered than past history.  (I had a 2.6 GPA in college at age 18; but GPA after I entered the USAF was 4.0)

Although this is just my speculation, another consideration of the selection board might be where you are applying for school.  Someone going for a physics degree at MIT might have precedence over someone going to the University of Southern Mississippi; it is just not as good of a program.
