Question about Alley McBeal Episode 12 Season 3 called Search for Pygmies?

Question

In this episode Ling went to an old folks home each week to dance with the residents. At one point in the early part of the show their was a dance and a black lady sang a song called "They Were You".

I have tried everything I know to do to find out who what lady was, but to no avail. Does anyone know they name of that singer?
