Question about Americans Teaching in the US?

My girlfriend lives in Texas and I live in Ontario. Someday she plans on moving up here but right now she is in school studying to be a teacher, majoring in english I believe. My question is what is required for her to teach in Canada? Does she need certain degrees/certifications? Would it be possible for her to continue her studies in Ontario. If yes, what is required for that and what institutions would she be able to study?

I'm also a teacher in TX.  I know that teaching requirements vary according to states.  So, they must vary according to countries as well.  If I were you, I would google... or 'yahoo' "Ontario + state teaching requirements".  I did it.
