Question:

Question about Born Free glass bottles...

I am using the Born Free glass bottles for my 6 1/2 month old. The first few weeks he used them (about 3 weeks ago) he did fine. Now it seems that when he sucks on the nipple it collapses after a while. Has anyone had this happen? It is a silicone nipple that says level 3. Does Born Free have a size higher than a 3? Any ideas?

  1. I also use Born Free glass bottles and I love them.  The reason that the nipple collapses sometimes is because the sugar in the formula makes the venting system stick to the bottle, which in turn makes the nipple collapse when the baby sucks on it.  (this is what I was told by a born free representative on the phone)  It doesn't seem to happen much anymore, I remember that when it did happen I would just unscrew the top and let some air back into the nipple and then twist the cap back on.  That seemed to work.  My daughter is seven months old and she still uses level 1 nipples, but I do know that Born Free also carries a Y shaped nipple that you could possibly try if the level 3 are constantly collapsing.  Especially if you always have to stop and fix it, it might make your baby a little unhappy.  I know when my daughter wants her milk, she wants it now. hehe.  Hope that helps.

  2. they have a Y cut nipple you could try that....
