  1. I Just had my daughter 2 months ago and i had a c seciton. Mine wasn't schedule but i can tell yot this much if you end up going into labor that's fine they will do a c-section while your in labor. they give you a spinal block. Than after they give u that on your way to get your c-section done.

  2. yeah, theyll just do a csection if labor in imminent.

  3. They usually use a spinal block. The c-section will be done as soon as possible depending on the situation, but if you had a c-section before contractions can be dangerous.

  4. It depends on the reason why she is scheduled for a c-section but yes...if she  goes into labor early usually they'll do an emergency c-section. Now a days they give you an epidural or a spinal instead of general anesthesia. Anesthesiologist don't like to give anesthesia if you've eaten in the past 6-8 hours because of many reasons. but if an emergency arrises thats a different circumstance and it would be up to the doctor.

  5. if you are electing a c section and refuse natural labor then yes they will have an emergency c section. general anesthesia is only used in cases where a spinal tap can not be used. for example: for my first baby i was given general because i had a low platelet (sp?) count and a spinal tap would of been a high risk

  6. She will indeed have an emergency c-section. .

  7. yes depending how strong your sontractions are and how far dilated you are to have a c section. even if you have contractions and they are before the scheduled date just call the dr and go to the hospital and they will tell how far and if you will have the baby...and yes they have the anesthesia.

  8. i have wondered that myself, I'm 7 weeks, due April 9th, scheduled for a c-section March 30th. They are doing it ten days early for that reason. If u go into labor, and u have had a previous C-section, i think will try to do another c-section. a vaginal birth is dangerous for u both if you've already had a c-section, I've heard when VBAC'S go bad, they go bad fast. I would talk to your Dr about doing it early so you won't worry about that. I had a scheduled c-section in 2003 w/ my second baby, and they took her about ten days early too. Talk to your Dr. good luck to you, and congrats

  9. It depends on the reason for the scheduled C-Section in the first place.  Most likely, they will go ahead and get you in for a C-Section anyway.  In some cases, though, they may let you labor (for example  if the C-Section was scheduled for a breech baby, but when you get to the hospital the baby has flipped).  Unless there is an imminent risk to you or the baby, they will probably just give you a spinal anesthesia (not general).
