I have been wearing CITRINE around my neck for the past 5 days, and have noticed black lines forming on the inside of it..When I purchased the stone it was completely yellow....I have also been healing from an illness .....My question is...are the black lines a sign of the stone pulling stuff out of me...Or is the Stone a Bad stone?..Any suggestions would be appreciated....

  1. There is no such thing as a "bad stone".  This could definitely be a sign of the illness leaving the body, especially if this is something your mind/emotional body has been intensely focused on.  Once the illness is gone, do not wear the stone anymore, bury it in the earth or drop it in a body of water to be cleansed.

  2. get the stone/necklace professionally cleaned.  then, see if you continue to have the same issue.  it may be that the oils/lotions/soap, etc. are just showing up over a period of time.

  3. Rocks and minerals DO NOT have any healing powers and in no way react to your illness.  That's ridiculous.

The previous answers about dirt and oils from your body rubbing off on the stone are accurate.

Citrine is a variety of quartz (SiO2) that is yellow because of iron impurities.

  4. Citrine is a very good stone. It is connected with the energy of solar plexus chakra- not only for physical health, but also for generating creative mental energy.

I am using this stone/as other limpide crystals -quarz , but it depends on personal aura,   / for  meditation- crystal symmetry predispose for  chakra balance-

immaginating being in the center of the crystal, enlightened by sun you could charge yourself with  purifying and healing energy.

But be careful - in some mythologies crystals could contain locked spirits of magicians- a joke...

  5. It's a sign that you're a gullible person who blew some money on a useless piece of rock.

  6. True citrine is colored organically in nature by hydrocarbons.  The color is usually a pale "beer" color.  There have been some more brightly colored specimens found, but not generally available, as well as extremely expensive.Even the more obtainable, paler colored varieties are elusive,a bit expensive, and quite difficult to obtain. "It is one of the two minerals on the planet which does not hold and accumulate negative energy, (the other  kayanite, )but dissipates and transmutes it, working out problems on both the physical and subtle levels.  It, hence, never needs clearing or cleansing.", however,  there is  a type of quartz referred  to as "citrine" that is colored with iron, and also sometimes colored by heating. for example, amethyst that was heated by natural means and named "citrine", as well, that there is  a type of quartz referred to as "citrine" that is colored with iron, and also sometimes colored by heating.then the most probably

you think you are wearing a citrine, when is not a genuine one.

  7. That citrine is very likely amethyst that was heated to turn it yellow artificially.

    Citrine and amethyst

There are two reasons quartz would darken.

    1. It contains inclusions of some other mineral. In this case, the lines must have always been there and you just didn't notice. Some artificial color changing processes, such as irradiation, a very common method in Asia, will cause the stone to turn a color which will fade slightly within a few weeks. This could make inclusions that where there temporarily difficult to see.

    2. Radiation. Quartz turns dark when exposed to high enough levels of radiation for a long enough time. This is the cause of "smokey quartz". I doubt this is what is causing the black lines though because I doubt you are exposed to such a source of radiation, and it should turn dark in a more uniform way. This type of radiation doesn't make the stone radioactive.

However, when the stone is irradiated intentionally, it CAN become radioactive for a period of time. There was a problem with tigereye stones from Asia which had been irradiated to make the color more vivid and they were released on to the market too soon, while they were still quite radioactive. The increased radiactivity gave them a temporary dark chocolate hue.

  8. It's just dirt and oils from your skin that get there throughout the course of the day as you work/move about.

  9. seems like your body's recovering and the stone absorbed all the negative energy..
